What you need to know about STIR/SHAKEN in 2022

STIR/SHAKEN’s ultimate goal is to reduce robocalls in the telecom networks. To achieve this, STIR/SHAKEN attempts to help differentiate the legitimate calls from the spoofed ones. But in reality, current deployments lack the consistency for STIR/SHAKEN to easily separate legitimate and spoofed calls. For example, the same calling number will have a variety of STIR/SHAKEN attestation, even though the calls are all legitimate. So how can analytics still work towards the goal of stopping malicious spoofing?

Join us on March 23rd, 2022, when Jonathan Nelson, Hiya's Director of Product Management,  will discuss how STIR/SHAKEN was deployed, its pitfalls, and what to do moving forward.  He will share a variety of insights including:

  • How scammers have responded to STIR/SHAKEN
  • Why STIR/SHAKEN has presented a gray area for attestation
  • How we can build on STIR/SHAKEN to make the phone call even more secure
