Hiya’s Ground-breaking AI Innovations Take Center Stage in the T Challenge 2025 Final

We’re proud to share that Hiya has been named a finalist in the T Challenge 2025, an international competition hosted by T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom, showcasing the most impactful innovations in the telecom industry. Competitions like this push AI innovation forward, and it's thanks to the support of T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom that we have the opportunity to turn that innovation into real-world impact. Hiya was selected alongside 11 other companies from around the world to present to industry leaders on June 2–3, in Bonn, Germany.

The theme for this year is “AI at the Heart of Telecom – Transforming Networks, Elevating Customer Experiences”, a natural fit for Hiya. We’re proud to stand alongside top innovators from universities, research institutes, startups, and global companies to showcase Hiya’s AI Voice Detection technology. Together with our carrier partners, we’re tackling the rising threat of AI-powered fraud to protect businesses and consumers.

Scammers are using deepfake voices to deceive call center agents, gain access to customer accounts, and manipulate phone interactions. According to a 2025 study from UC Berkeley’s School of Information, humans can only detect fake AI voices about 60% of the time. That’s only slightly better than guessing with a fifty-fifty chance.  That margin of error leaves customer service agents and businesses vulnerable.

Hiya’s AI Voice Detection technology on display at the T-Challenge is built to close that gap. Purpose-built for contact centers, our solution detects AI voices in real-time with 99.2% accuracy. It integrates with existing communication systems to give call centers a vital layer of protection against deepfake voice scams.

We’re excited for the opportunity to collaborate with T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom to bring AI-powered protection to more people and businesses worldwide.
The T Challenge offers the potential for partnerships with Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile US, support to scale across Europe and the US, and up to €300,000 in prize money.

No matter the outcome, we’ll keep doing what we do best: protecting people from fraud and restoring trust in the voice call.
